SunCity Paradise: Describe your home country of Spain a bit. What’s one aspect that stands out to you and makes it special? What’s one sight you would suggest a first-time visitor to see to get a good feel of the country?

Taao Kross: My country is special (what can I tell you) — its culture, people, tourism and monuments. There are many things that make Spain a different country where we receive millions of visitors every year. And, we even make some of them dance!

SCP: What peaked your initial interest in music? Did you know early on or did it evolve over time?

TK: As in everything I guess that you need to take your time, it is a profession that requires technique, knowledge, skills and a lot of sacrifice to be able to work in this professionally. I took up this activity when I was very little at home. I kept evolving, studying the sector, learning skills and having curiosity until little by little you realize that your level is ready to be taken to a stage and make the audience dance.

SCP: Did the allure of travel help motivate you to pursue a career in music? Why?

TK: I particularly like traveling because I know that wherever I go there’s an audience waiting for me impatiently to see my show. I have visited more than 25 countries this last year and almost all the continents so you can imagine the extra motivation that I convey. To see myself on posters in such special places as Jakarta, Jordan and Tel Aviv [is special].

SCP: What do the coming months have in store for your music career?

TK: I have several super important projects. This year is going to be very special for me for many reasons. In the next few weeks my new track will be out. It has given a change to my musical path and it is going to get people’s attention. Also, this year I have schedules to perform six or seven discographic launchings. I’m also looking forward to my own party at Ibiza, which will be accompanied by my residency, as every summer, with David Guetta in Pacha. My new radio show “Binomio” by Taao Kross is broadcasting monthly in more than 40 countries for more than 30 million listeners.

SCP: When searching for a personal getaway, are you looking for a serene beach or after a more active, adventurous getaway? Why?

TK: Perhaps if I went on holiday right now I would choose a quiet island, a paradise type beach or something similar. The reason is because when I am on tour I always go to big cities. To disconnect and truly relax I need peaceful spaces, far from big cities and traffic.

SCP: One of our core objectives at SCP is to bring people together while traveling, not only to influence people to see and appreciate our beautiful world, but to also minimize cross-cultural divides. What effect does traveling have on humans in this regard? How has it broadened your perspective of the world?

TK: Travelling is really beautiful. It comforts you as a human being and makes you wiser. Arriving in other cities, experiencing cultures and customs is magic. This gives me life to get into my recording studio and feed my creativity.

SCP: Everyone has a list of places that they still have to hit. What are three destinations that you still need to see? Why?

TK: Bali is a unique place to rest. Tokyo is a unique — cosmopolitan and a reference in the world. Las Vegas for all that is around which is connected to my industry

SCP: Most destinations have a festival that they’re known for, whether it’s Mardi Gras in New Orleans or Oktoberfest in Munich. Which one would you choose to attend? Why?

TK: There are many and very good festivals in the whole world. If I had to choose to perform in two I would choose Tomorrowland (Belgium), which is the benchmark festival of electronic music in Europe, and Ultra Music Festival, which is the benchmark festival of electronic in America, as well as the rest of the world. Both are the perfect showcase for thousands of people, but above all for the industry. Although, there are many others that I have marked in red as target places.

SCP: When you’re relaxing on a beach, or just have some downtime, what are you listening to?

TK: I listen to all kinds of music. I like getting to know all and knowing what is being listened to in every country, therefore I do not have anything predetermined. I am a lover of music in general.

SCP: Lastly, when’s the next vacation and where to?

TK: Just next week I take advantage of five days of holiday to travel with my family to Disneyland (Paris). I love to revive the child I have within and it is a destination that I am eager to go. I hope I’ll make the most of it.
